The MLA conference is not over just because the sessions have ended.

There are several fun activities to fill your evening conference hours both Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Wednesday:

4:15-6:30pm

An Evening at the Falmouth Public Library
The Falmouth Public Library staff welcomes you Wednesday, May 7th for an early evening reception and behind the scenes tour. Slated to open spring 2008,  be among the first to tour the newly renovated and expanded Falmouth Public Library. The overcrowded shelves, hanging wires, stained carpets and the leaky roof are gone, replaced with an efficiently redesigned space that balances modern décor with an eye to historic preservation. Custom designed furniture, the latest technology, and artwork from local artists accentuate the meticulously designed Circulation, Reference, Teen and Children’s Departments. Additionally, the 8,000 square foot expansion includes the Reference wing and “smart” public meeting rooms. We provide the tour, the treats and even the transportation to lovely Main Street Falmouth. Once you are on Main Street take advantage of ‘MLA Days’. The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce and Village Association are offering incentives, promotions and discounts through local businesses exclusively for conference participants. Check your welcome packets for details!

Buses leave from the SeaCrest front entrance at 4:15pm and 4:30pm. Return trips at 6:15pm and 6:30pm

Prepaid Ticket for the Trivia Game Required

After a lovely dinner, MLA will be hosting a Trivia Night Fundraising Contest combined with a small silent auction. Some special items will also be auctioned off live between rounds of trivia by our favorite auctioneer and American Library Association’s Executive Director, Keith Fiels.
Trivia Night is coming back and it will be better than ever this year! We've assembled a crack team of fact finders to help put together this year's questions. There should be no mistakes and there will be no library-related questions this time! Yay! This event is your opportunity to show off your boundless knowledge of trivia. You can try answering questions on your own, or form a team of trivia-loving friends and combine your areas of knowledge into one unstoppable trivia-answering machine! Challenge other libraries or library-related organizations to bring a team and match wits against yours. Costumes are encouraged. This event is the primary way that MLA raises funds for the Continuing Education Fund, so register early for this event and challenge your friends to come and play!
