On which platforms can I buy and sell Qtum (QTUM)?
QTUM/USD, QTUM/BTC, QTUM/ETH
Qtum is, at the beginning, a foundation, based in Singapore! It was created by professionals of Blockchain technology and has since made an ICO that gave birth to the currency QTUM.
What is the Qtum project? People like to say that it’s a mixture of BTC and ETH. To put it simply, Qtum would like to allow companies to execute smart contracts without being hindered by the specificities of their operations.
How it works: for what purposes can Qtum (QTUM) be purchased?
The uses are similar to those of Bitcoin and Ethereum but do not stop there. Overall, Qtum’s uses revolve around smart contracts. The company has successfully combined Bitcoin and Ethereum technologies with an AAL abstraction layer.
Qtum’s technology allows smart contracts to be coded with languages that are rather common in the developer world, such as C or Java… while Ethereum’s technology uses the “Solidity” language, which is much less widely adopted.
QTUM also has advantages over Bitcoin. If there are major power changes or exceptional events, the Bitcoin is obliged to carry out “hard forks” (such as those that gave rise to Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin Gold). For QTUM? Block sizes, mining interval and other parameters can be changed by a voting system (this is called a decentralized governance protocol).
Our review: should we buy QTUM?
It must be said that QTUM is a rather attractive crypto insofar as it is a mixture of the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum (to put it simply, it is based on the Bitcoin protocol and presents use cases for smart contracts, like Ethereum) which are, in passing, the two largest currencies in the world in terms of market value.
One of QTUM’s strong points is also the use of the “Proof-of-Stake”, which is more economical and faster than the traditional “Proof-of-Work” which is, for example, used by Bitcoin.
QTUM is also a blockchain for adoption: contracts can be tailored to meet the specific needs of an institution. Also, this blockchain can be used on several media: computer, smartphone or tablet.
So it is a rather promising currency. However, it must be understood that it is a competitor of the NEO and ETH, which are two giants in the cryptographic world. There are therefore some threats to watch out for when you watch the QTUM course
