On October 22, 2015, MetaQuotes Software announced the upcoming launch of the latest version of MetaTrader 4.

What changes with the new version of MetaTrader 4

A series of changes will therefore be made by the brand new version of MetaTrader 4.
First, as far as the terminal is concerned, some elements are evolving. In particular, it is possible to change the password of an account that is not active and therefore not connected. In addition, it is possible to free and optimize the memory when the history is full. The terminal has also been optimized to allow work with several new categories.

With regard to signals, a correction has been made for unsubscribing via the context menu in the navigation window.

As for MQL4, two changes are expected on the one hand, class models allow to set up parametric classes, this option being comparable to the settings found in C . It is then possible to use the same code to manipulate objects belonging to different classes. The fixed memory is moved in ArrayCopy.

On the tester’s side, an error that could affect variables declared following an indicator test has been corrected. The same applies to the problem at the tester level occurring in the event of a loss of connection to the trading server.

Concerning MetaEditor two corrections are planned. First, it will be possible to assign a function name within the MetaAssist tool in front of the “casting type”. Then there is the opening of large files. In addition, there is a new shortcut key. This is “F” to request a search in the base code. In addition, there are various tips visible in the status bar on work orders.

Finally, the new version of MetaTrader 4 benefits from improvements over errors in incident logs.
